Hydrogeologist or Geological Engineer
Hydrometrics, Inc. is seeking an entry-level to mid-level Hydrogeologist or Geological Engineer to work on interesting and challenging projects in our Billings, Montana office. What You Will Do…
Work directly with project managers and lead technical scientists and engineers.
Work on complex and interesting projects, including: Water resource development; Mining hydrogeology and permitting; Groundwater characterization and remediation; and Environmental Impact Assessments.
Water supply planning, permitting, and design.
Water sampling and analysis plan preparation and implementation.
Monitoring well installation oversight.
Aquifer testing and analysis.
Groundwater modeling.
Environmental and water resources permitting.
Develop and implement field investigations.
Detailed data analysis, interpretation, and reporting.
Interact with clients and regulators.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelors in Hydrogeology, Geological Engineering, or a related science or engineering field.
0 to 7 years of progressively responsible job experience in groundwater and surface water monitoring and field data collection, developing and implementing project work plans and sampling and analysis plans; permitting, design, installation, and geologic logging of water supply and monitoring wells; aquifer testing: site investigations and characterization, remediation, and data interpretation and analysis.
Knowledge of physical and chemical hydrology and hydrogeology concepts and applications.
Proficiency in technical/scientific writing, graphics preparation, and technical presentations with continuous attention to detail.
Ability to successfully complete tasks both independently and collaboratively.
Ability to travel to project locations for client meetings and/or to conduct or supervise field work.
Commitment to workplace safety.
Preferred
Masters Degree in Hydrogeology or Geological Engineering.
Professional licensure or licensure track.
Experience in water and mine permitting (e.g., MPDES, Water Rights, exploration and mine operation permitting).
Industrial or regulatory experience.
Current HAZWOPER 40-hour training and certification.
Current MSHA training and certification.
Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D, geographical information systems (GIS) and other spatial analysis software (e.g., ESRI ArcGIS, Surfer).
Location: Billings, MT, in person (Required)
Schedule: Full-Time, M-F
Salary: $55k-$90k per year (depending on experience)
Ability to commute/relocate:

License/Certification: Driver's License (Required)
Willingness to travel: 25% (Required)
