Civil/Environmental Engineer

Hydrometrics is seeking a well-rounded Civil/Environmental Engineer to join our Engineering and Environmental Sciences team to work on challenging projects in our Helena, Montana office. What You Will Do…

  • Work directly with project managers and senior technical scientists and engineers.

  • Work on complex and interesting projects, including:

    • Water resource development

    • Hydrology and permitting

    • Dam inspection, repair, and rehabilitation

    • Environmental characterization and remediation

    • Permitting coordination; environmental sampling

    • Site development/redevelopment

    • Civil infrastructure

    • Construction oversight

  • Develop and implement field investigations and remedial design

  • Interact with clients and regulators

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental or Geological Engineering, or a related technical field with 2-7 years’ experience.

  • Strong technical skills and experience in development and implementation of project work plans and reports, engineering design, preparing and reviewing design drawings and specifications, permitting, construction oversight, and cost and schedule estimates.

  • Proficient in the use of computers and engineering software (e.g., Office 365, ArcGIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and time keeping).

  • Proficiency in technical/scientific writing, graphics preparation, and technical presentations with continuous attention to detail.

  • Ability to successfully complete tasks both independently and collaboratively.

  • Ability to travel occasionally to project locations for client meetings and/or to conduct or supervise field work.

  • Commitment to work place safety.

Preferred

  • Professional Engineer’s license, or the ability to obtain one within 1-3 years.

  • Master’s Degree in Civil, Environmental or Geological Engineering,

  • Knowledge of hydrologic, hydraulic, and sediment analyses, stormwater treatment/management, and/or environmental cleanup.

  • Experience with water resource development, storm water modeling, GeoHECRAS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, GPS surveying, floodplain and watershed studies, flood mapping, mine permitting, environmental remediation, regulatory compliance, and construction management.

  • Current HAZWOPER 40-hour training and certification.

  • Current MSHA training and certification.

  • Experience with geographical information systems (GIS) and other spatial analysis software (e.g., ESRI ArcGIS).

Schedule: Full-Time 

Salary: $55k-$80k (depending on experience)
