Hydrogeologist
Hydrometrics is seeking a highly motivated Project Hydrogeologist to join our Sciences Team to work on interesting and challenging projects in our Kalispell, Montana office and assist our team in Helena, Montana. What You Will Do…
Work directly with project managers and lead technical scientists and engineers.
Work on complex and interesting projects, including:
Water resource development.
Mining hydrogeology and permitting.
Groundwater characterization and remediation.
Environmental Impact Assessments.
Permitting
Develop and implement field investigations.
Detailed data analysis, interpretation, and forecasting.
Interact with clients and regulators.
Qualifications
Required
Degree in Hydrogeology (Master’s preferred) or related earth sciences field.
2 to 7 years of progressively responsible job experience in hydrogeology field data collection, site investigations and characterization, data interpretation and analysis, and groundwater modeling.
Knowledge of physical and chemical hydrology and hydrogeology concepts and applications.
Experience with hydrogeology software (e.g., AQTESOLV, MODFLOW).
Proficiency in technical/scientific writing, graphics preparation, and technical presentations with continuous attention to detail.
Ability to successfully complete tasks both independently and collaboratively.
Ability to travel occasionally to project locations for client meetings and/or to conduct or supervise field work.
Preferred
Experience in water and mine permitting (e.g., MPDES, Water Rights, exploration and mine operation permitting)
Current HAZWOPER 40-hour training and certification
Current MSHA training and certification
Experience with geographical information systems (GIS) and other spatial analysis software (e.g., ESRI ArcGIS, Surfer)
Schedule: Full-Time
Salary: $55k-$80k (depending on experience)
